about

Part one of the album that never was. These demos were originally only intended to be demos used to shop the idea for the album around until a suitable situation was found. As time passed it became apparent that such a large project, nearly 25 songs, needed to be done in-house. The live band recorded live renditions of most of these songs however, to this day those recordings remain unfinished and possibly lost forever.

Though the album was intended to be listened to from start to finish, Vol I is clearly the shorter, more easily digestible of the collection.

“Hopeless” the tail end of “Symptoms”, “Only We Know What We Are”, “Disclaimer” and “Fuck The World Day” were all staples in the live set from 2004 – 2006.

“Why”, “Loveless” and “Memara”were brought out near the end of that time.

The live version of “Memara” featured Aiden Dire on second lead vocals, though his parts were never recorded for demos.

The demo of “I've Had Enough” is older than the version that appears on The Lighter Side of Devastation and features only minimal backup vocals by Monika Santucci.
